ASWARBY

If you haven’t heard of Aswarby Rectory by now then where on earth have you been? Built in 1820, Aswarby Rectory is a beautiful, exclusive use country house wedding venue situated in stunning open countryside and surrounded by 9 acres of private gardens and paddock land.

The house has recently undergone a sympathetic programme of renovation, launching as a wedding venue in the Summer of 2018. I was lucky enough to photograph my first wedding at Aswarby in May 2019 and I’ve been obsessed ever since.

Kimberley and Neil were another covid postponement but they were absolutely worth waiting for. On a cold February day in Lincolnshire I turned up to be greeted to the most beautiful wedding details. I’m a sucker for details. I love the little things that couples spend so much time, money and energy on before a wedding. Sometimes the things that get completely ignored. To me, They are important. Equally if not more important when a human is attached to them. I spied Kimberely’s dad writing his speech and several other people doing things when they didn’t know I was looking. For me, watching Neil get dressed with his little boy was an incredibly special moment to witness and one I wanted to capture for Kim.

The wedding was beautiful, stunning pastel flowers made for the most gorgeous wedding bouquet. Aswarby Rectory’s white stone walls the perfect canvas for the muted colour I love so much. Kim wore a gorgeous lace wedding dress with flat slip on shoes and her hair beautifully up with a few curled strands peeping down. Her bridesmaids wore light coral long sleeved button detailed dresses from ASOS which were just beautiful. The men wore grey tweed suits and burnt orange woven ties.

A wonderfully emotional ceremony was followed by a wonderfully vibrant reception. Kim listened to my advice and got way more confetti than needed but I’m so glad because it just worked. I love a good wedding confetti shot. I love it being thrown at me to get the layers within the photograph. Oh and the colours, just wow. Incredible. Black Peppermint provided canapés and yummy food for the guests and then it was time for speeches. My favourite part of the day.

The wedding speeches had us all in hysterics, fabulous set of memories poured out and lots of tears shed. Choosing a February wedding in Lincolnshire is a tough decision. You never really know what kind of weather you’re going to get. You know it’s going to be chilly but you never really know if it’s going to be a nice cold or a cold that renders you brain frozen. Thankfully this cold was nice enough to get out for some sparklers. Although Kim had an unfortunate accident with a sparkler that lit her boobs up like Blackpool illuminations. The most incredible part about this incident - She had no idea until I sent her a photo of her illuminated boobs. All in all a wonderful day at Aswarby Rectory. A favourite wedding venue of mine and I cannot wait to be back here two more times in 2022.
