THE WEDDING SUPPLIER WORKSHOP

THIS ONE ISN’T FOR PHOTOGRAPHERS.

Monday 24th February 2025 - 9.30am - 4pm

£250 - max 10 places

IMPACT INTERNATIONAL // KELSICK GRAMMAR // AMBLESIDE // CUMBRIA

On a wedding day I meet many wedding suppliers. We all tend to share the same stories about the last 5 years and the struggles we’ve all faced, some who have since thrived and some who have completely lost the will to live. (Sounds dramatic but there’s no denying weddings have changed in the last 5 years)

Where possible I’ll always try to capture suppliers work if I get chance on a wedding day. However, I often think it would be nice if they could get their own content too which would help so much with their social media and marketing rather than relying and often waiting on professional images to come through - if they ever do.

Most wedding suppliers are small businesses, born from a passion or hobby, a creative streak and a love for being their own boss. However, we all know that running a business simply isn’t as easy as turning a hobby into a profit. Throw in the demands of social media, marketing and pressure to perform on Tik Tok like a dancing monkey, suddenly your passion and skillset doesn’t matter, and it’s a case of who shouts the loudest, tends to be the busiest (I should know) lol

I’m no expert, and everything I will tell you is what works for me and from the way I see the wedding industry as it currently stands. I am usually the one supplier, apart from the venue who is at the wedding from start until evening. I see a lot of action and can offer a lot of advice based on what I’ve witnessed and experienced.

My background is in Graphic design and teaching, obviously now photography so whilst I’m not an expert in floristry, makeup, hair, music, I can help with the bits that we all tend to have in common when running a small business in this sector.

So, if you’re feeling a bit lost, overwhelmed, needing some direction, absorbing too much bullshit online which is causing confusion and a feeling of hopelesses then this might be just the thing you’re looking for. The topics I’ll be covering are:

MARKETING - Social Media, Website, Graphic Design

Creating a consistent brand when relying on third parties, Showing your face on social media, having a website that does the work for you (not SEO, but does your website actually inform potential clients properly) Templates and tutorials on how to create your own simple graphic design solutions so you can be in control of small jobs and finances. Ideas for reels/ content. Employing a content creator.

PHOTOGRAPHY - Understanding Copyright, Working with photographers, Social Media and Tagging, Styled Shoots

Understanding how you can use professional photographs without getting into bother. Taking your own photos on an phone or basic camera, using basic lighting techniques and working with what you have on the day, working in harmony with photographers, proper tagging and use of images for digital and print. Collaboration on styled shoots and how to get involved in them along with etiquette.

WORKFLOW - Client journey, Communication, CRM Systems

Time management, automated systems, client journeys from enquiry to feedback, how to communicate clearly and quickly

WELLBEING - Social media, Mindset, and Imposter syndrome

How to manage social media burnout or imposter syndrome, taking breaks and work life balance.
