ABOUT US, WHY INVEST?

Remember the Spring of 2020? when nobody could work and everybody was terrified of each other? Weddings couldn’t go ahead and so we looked at what was allowed under government lockdown rules and With Abandon was born. From a global pandemic came a collaboration and then a successful adventure elopement business that’s the first in England. To this day we still haven’t found another business like ours who plan, photograph and film the entire elopement for adventurous couples. Nothing, and we mean nothing is off limits. Couples give us their wish list, we make it happen. It’s challenging, sometimes stressful and incredibly hard work but the rewards are out of this world.

Don’t be fooled. Our elopements are often 16 hour days, gruelling physical exercise carrying all our equipment and yomping up mountains but we have seen some of the most spectacular sunrises and sunsets in our lives. We limit the number of elopements we do a year to six for this reason. The time it takes to safely plan one of these adventures is mind boggling. But, when done well, it works well and the results are out of this world.

QUESTIONS YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF

Like elopements, our workshop is intentionally small with limited places, giving you all the time and attention you need to get the most out of the experience.

Are you:

Feeling a little lost or stuck in a creative rut, unsure how to make a jump into elopements?

Overwhelmed by the idea of taking on elopement logistics and planning a meaningful day?

Intimidated at the thought of working in unfamiliar landscapes with unpredictable weather and uncontrollable light?

Struggling to find balance between posing your couples and an authentic client experience?

Doubting your style, wanting to experiment and wondering how you can stand out?

Looking for an opportunity to experiment freely and take risks with your work or style without risking a clients’ images or film?

Our workshop is designed to cover all of this and more, arming you with the knowledge and confidence you need to dive into adventure elopements with your business.

We want to help you:

1. Find your creative style

2. Master your client experience

3. Improve your technical skills

4. Tell organic stories

5. Feel confident in your work

If you love small weddings/elopements, have a sense for adventure and the outdoors, this is the right place for you!

We all have a goal as artists. We all want to create more than just an end product of images/film, we want our work to mean something. To evoke emotion, to be impactful to our clients and remind them of their day and truly tell their unique story. This in itself is no easy feat, but to do this when working in the unpredictable outdoors with the elements and tricky lighting we can easily become overwhelmed and lose sight of this goal. We’ve designed this workshop to help you achieve it.

OUR BELIEF IS

You are more than just a photographer/filmmaker to your couples. You have the ability to make a significant and positive impact on their most important day. Now imagine approaching your next enquiry not only believing this but also having the skills and knowledge to follow through. That is why we have created a shiny new workshop, unlike any other we’ve seen. We have over 20 years combined experience in the wedding industry photographing large weddings, intimate/destination weddings, and elopements during this time.

Up your game and creativity in our workroom:

Gear & settings, Lighting & the elements, Kit & the landscape, Safety and Risk, Composition, Storytelling, Directing & posing, Client experience

Boost your confidence and portfolio on our adventure

A rel couple, Real Suppliers, A full day starting with morning prep, A mock ceremony in an exclusive location, Adventure sunset hike.

That’s right, we’ve crafted a mock elopement adventure day as part of this workshop. With the benefit of it being mock so there’s plenty of opportunities to teach and demonstrate and most of all so you can experiment and learn while boosting your portfolio!

NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED

A few things you need to be aware of before registering interest.

The elopement shoot day is designed to be exactly how we operate on an elopement. That means a very early start. You will need outdoor kit suitable for working outdoors in early March. Waterproofs and hiking boots are essential. We will provide a detailed kit list after booking. You will also need a reasonable level of fitness as one location involves a steep 40 minute hike with all your kit. If it’s raining we shoot, gale force wind we shoot, hurricane we shoot, you get the idea. We operate a strict ‘leave no trace’ policy and expect our attendees to adhere to this too.

NOT PUT YOU OFF YET?

Register your interest here, note this is NOT reserving a place, simply to gage interest and find out what you want/need from us. Tickets will be released in shortly when final details are confirmed and we can pass them onto you before you make that decision to purchase the ticket.
