Windermere Jetty Museum wedding

I am so glad that Windermere Jetty Museum decided to offer small weddings. When I first discovered this gorgeous building in 2019 I Immediately saw the potential for weddings. So, in lockdown when we could have 6 people together I organised a styled shoot there. The modern clean lines and beautiful natural light just gave me all the feels. That’s without even seeing the view and the shoreline it sits on. Honestly the place is stunning. Paulina and Bayley contacted me a teeny tiny 6 weeks ago enquiring about me shooting their wedding. Of course, it was a yes from me. I’ve been itching to get inside for a real wedding since 2020. Yesterday was beautiful and everything I’d expected.

Bride and Dad walking down the aisle at Windermere Jetty Museum dry dock

I think this is one of my favourite ever aisles to be completely honest. The boats, the natural lights, the lights hanging from the building. It’s all just so beautiful and works so well. (Plus, gives me tonnes of time to work) I love a long aisle :)

What a ceremony room! I have never shot a wedding ceremony in such a unique and interesting space.

After the ceremony I took Baley and Paulina and their gorgeous little man Theo off into the wild flowers at the front of the museum to play. I love the stark contrast of the building next to their outfits and the flowers.

I love that they could get into the most beautiful vintage speed boat which the museum staff kindly got out of the dry dock for us. Whilst they couldn’t go out in this one, they did get to go out in another with their family.

Baley requested that they all have a little paddle before I headed off, you know you don’t need to ask me twice to get in the water. I love the relaxed nature of this couple. Embracing the scenery and not bothering about their outfits. This is why I love small intimate weddings so much. So much less expectation on the couple and they get to do what they want to do, not having to stay pristine till the evening doo. Instead they’ll always remember paddling in Windermere on their wedding day.

Their wedding package included a cruise around Windermere with the cutest little picnic and champagne set up. Honestly, if I were to marry again then I’d d this. Simple, beautiful, ticks all boxes, relaxed and back at the hotel for a good tea. I’d love to capture more weddings at this incredible venue.
